On a crisp Spring morning on the Fylde Coast Keir Starmer met with Counselling In The Community to hear about the changes we have made since his last visit.

When Sir Keir was last at Counselling In The Community we were a small charity, established in the heart of South Shore making counselling accessible to all from our Waterloo Road hub.

Since then we have been going from strength-to-strength with our dedicated Children and Young People’s Centre now up and running in Bispham and plans for our Fleetwood branch underway. Our Chair of Trustees, Chris Webb joined our CEO Stuart Hutton-Brown and our Service Manager, Hazel Tyldesley in welcoming Sir Keir back to the Fylde Coast.

Sir Keir asked Hazel for an update on what’s new for Counselling In The Community and on hearing how we have grown, he agreed how very much a service like ours is needed. Hazel was able to tell him what a fantastic response we’ve had to the opening of our Children and Young People’s Centre, a month ago to the very day of Sir Keir’s visit.

These are exciting times for Counselling In The Community as we continue to grow in serving the people of the Fylde Coast and truly make counselling accessible to all.
